💧 Installation of Village Water Pumps in Northern Punjab

Dr Patrick Treacy has been directly involved in installing water pumps in rural communities in Northern Punjab, providing clean drinking water, reliable daily access for villages, and reduced dependence on unsafe water sources. In 2024, he documented returning from Northern Pakistan after helping install water pumps for local communities. This is simple technology — but life-changing impact.

🌍 Work in Remote and Underserved Areas

His projects specifically targeted rural and underserved regions where infrastructure is limited, water access can require hours of travel, and contaminated water leads to disease. These are communities where the need is greatest and the impact of intervention is most profound.

🧠 Why Water Pumps Matter

This is not just a "nice project" — it addresses some of the most critical challenges facing rural communities:

  • Waterborne disease (cholera, dysentery, typhoid)
  • Child mortality
  • Women's burden — often responsible for collecting water over long distances
  • Education disruption — children missing school to fetch water

A single pump can support entire villages, making it one of the highest-impact forms of humanitarian intervention.
