Regenerative Medicine – My Part of the Early Journey

Abstract: This lecture traces my personal and clinical journey through the early development and adoption of regenerative medicine in aesthetic and dermatological practice. It will focus on the translational pathway from early innovation to clinically validated, award-winning techniques. The presentation will begin with the early adoption of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Photobiomodulation (PBM) for hair restoration and skin regeneration, at a time when these modalities were still emerging and often viewed with skepticism. I will discuss the scientific rationale, early clinical observations, challenges encountered, and how protocols evolved through real-world application. The lecture will then progress to the later integration of stem cell therapies combined with PBM, highlighting how synergistic regenerative approaches have enhanced outcomes in complex and refractory cases. Particular emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, patient selection, safety considerations, and long-term results. I will also present my award-winning techniques, including:

  • The Dublin Lift *The Helpir Technique * The PLUS Technique

These techniques will be illustrated through complex case studies, demonstrating how regenerative principles can be applied to achieve natural, durable, and patient-centred outcomes in both aesthetic and reconstructive settings.
